This is a very good project idea to do with your students or little children.  All you need to do is collecting different types of seashells when you go to the beach in summer and you'll be able to create interesting ants, turtles, monsters, and even a chorus.  The adults can help with the use of glue guns to glue the shells.  Both permanent markers or thick paints are good for coloring.  To add to the fun, you can also attach a small spring to create a swinging head or a pair of wire eyeglasses for the little turtle.   Just be creative.
